PURPOSE: To prepare a dispersion of a metal salt of a higher fatty acid which is incombustible or lowly combustible and possesses a good dispersibility, an evaporation rate on approximately the same level as that of 1,1,1-trichloroethane, and a good long-term storage stability by incorporating methylene chloride, a lower alcohol, and a metal salt of a fatty acid in predetermined proportions. CONSTITUTION: 1 to 50 pts.wt. metal salt of a higher fatty acid is dispersed in 100 pts.wt. liq. mixture comprising 70 to 95wt.% methylene chloride and 30 to 5wt.% lower alcohol. The obtained dispersion is used in cold drawing of a metallic pipe or the like. The lower alcohol is pref. a 1-5 C lower alcohol with isopropanol being particularly pref. Metal salts of higher fatty acids usable herein include metal salts of 8-25 C satd. or unsatd. fatty acids, and sodium stearate is particularly pref. The dispersion may be deposited onto a metal body by any method, though, a pray method is pref. A metal body with the dispersion deposited thereon is rapidly subjected to cold drawing after drying of the dispersion medium. |
