PURPOSE: To equalize diameters of dots of ink droplets and to print a good color image by an identical driving waveform by a constitution wherein volumes of ink chambers filled with inks are varied by actuator members and shapes of the ink chambers are different from each other with respect to kinds of the inks. CONSTITUTION: In a plurality of ink ejection devices 1Y, 1M,1C, 1B each comprising an ink chamber 12 having a side wall 11, the lengths of the ink chambers 12 are different from each other corresponding to physical properties of the inks, e.g. yellow(Y), magenta(M), cyan(C) and black(B). For example, the lengths of the ink chambers 12 are greater as viscosities of the inks therein are greater. At that time, manifolds 22Y, 22M, 22C, 22B are varied so that the lengths of the ink chambers 12 are equivalently varied. The equivalent lengths of the ink chambers 12 of the ink ejection devices 1Y, 1M, 1C, 1B become greater in order of C, B, Y and M. Thereby, it is possible to equalize the volumes of the ink droplets corresponding to the viscosities of the respective inks. |
