PURPOSE: To provide a quality inspecting method of a laser beam welding and an instrument therefor by which molten state in a key hole can accurately be measured. CONSTITUTION: In the quality detecting method of the laser beam welding by measuring signal intensity of the plasma beam generated at the time of laser beam welding, the signal intensities of the plasma beam 2 are measured from at least two points 10a and 10b different in angles of elevation from the work 1. The signal intensities obtd. by the measurement are separated into signal intensity by the plasma beam in the inner part of the key hole and signal intensity by the plasma beam at the upper part of the key hole from the beforehand obtd. relation between the angle and the signal intensity. By this method, the molten state in the welding part can accurately be informed. |
