PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in color forming sensitivity and also excellent in the storage stability of an undeveloped color part and a developed color image by adding a specific salicylic acid derivative and a metal salt thereof to the thermal recording material as an electron acceptive compd. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material containing an electron donating color forming compd. and an electron acceptive compd., at least one kind of a compd. selected from a salicylic acid derivative represented by formula (wherein X1 and x2 are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or a halogen atom, Y1 and Y2 are an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, R1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group and R2 is an alkyl group or an alkenyl group) and a metal salt thereof is added as the electron acceptive compd. Further, a compd. represented by Ar1 -NH-SO2 -Ar2 (wherein Ar1 and Ar2 are an aryl group) is added. |
