PURPOSE: To shorten a processing time in blank paper area judging processing. CONSTITUTION: When it is judged whether or not a printing area 52 is a blank paper area, the min. rectangles 60, 62, 64 being the smallest rectangular regions surrounding the printing objects such as characters or figures written in a memory region are set to the printing objects and it is judged whether or not the min. rectangles and the printing area 52 overlap with each other by high speed processable region judging processing. Herein, when at least one min. rectangle is positioned within the printing area 52 like the min. rectangles 60, 62 or straddles the inside and outside of the printing area 52, the printing area 52 is judged to be not the blank paper area and, when all of the min. rectangles are positioned outside the printing area 52 like the min. rectangle 64, the printing area 52 is judged to be the blank paper area. |
