PURPOSE: To form an image of high resolving power by exposing an image forming sheet on the side of a transparent support and generating ablation only in the image forming layer of the exposed part and subsequently peeling the image forming sheet and a protective sheet to transfer only the ablasion part to the protective sheet. CONSTITUTION: A protective sheet 3 is superposed on an image forming sheet 4 wherein a compd. having absorption within the oscillation wavelength region of a light source performing imagewise exposure when ablasion is generated is added to an image forming layer to obtain an image forming material. This image forming material is imagewise exposed on the side of the image forming sheet 4 to be heated under pressure and, thereafter, the image forming sheet 4 and the protective sheet 3 are peeled to transfer only an ablasion part to the protective sheet 3 to obtain a final image. At this time, since the protective sheet 3 is laminated to the image forming sheet 4, the scattering of the fine powder of the image forming layer scattered by ablasion in air at a time of exposure is avoided and an image of high resolving power can be formed. |
