FIELD: measuring technology. SUBSTANCE: device has permanent magnet suspended from flexible tension member at preset clearance relative to surface of article; besides, device is provided with magnetic system in the form of permanent magnet and magnetic circuit with two-position shunt changed-over mechanically and measuring coil. Fitted in center portion of tension member is element made in the form of ferromagnetic plate received by working clearance of magnetic circuit and shifted relative to its longitudinal axis.
