FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by bringing of hydrochlorofluorocarbon (being used as cooling agent) in contact with halogen, the process is carried out in liquid phase. Gaseous fluorine is used as halogen. Said contact is carried out by bubbling of gaseous fluorine through hydrochlorofluorocarbon to be purified. The process takes place at such temperature and pressure that provide residence of said cooling agent in liquid phase. Quantity of fluorine is 1.2-5 moles (preferable 2-3 moles) per 1 mole of vinylidene chloride in product to be purified.
