FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves combining stages of phenylhydrazine and acetoacetic acid ester condensation with cyclization stage of synthesized phenylhydrazone that is carried out in an aqueous medium at 50-100 C for at least 0.5 h. Synthesized product has 96.2% basic substance. Synthesis period is decreased to 0.5 h. Yield is increased to 95%. Synthesized compound is used in pharmaceutical industry for synthesis of antipyretics and dyes. EFFECT: simplified method, increased yield.
