PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high quality coating by securing speed control according to the relationship between the actual speed and the predetermined speed of a master process in the case of applying a hot melt adhering coating material to the surface of a moving web by a screen coater. SOLUTION: A coating system 10 is provided with a rotary coater 12 for applying a hot melt material to a web 14 and a nip 16 for pressing a laminate 18 to the web 14. The rotary coater 12 has a die 500 and a cylindrical screen 202. The speed and position of the cylindrical screen 202 with respect to those of the web 14 are respectively feedback-controlled by a control system 600. This means that the control system 600 outputs a control signal based on the line position of the web 14, the position of the screen 202 and the positional error of the web 14. Accordingly the position of the screen 202 with respect to that of the web 14 is accurately controlled.
