The control system for a railway carriage (7) contains an accelerometer (1), units (8,9) for measuring the angle of opposite bogies for determining the track curvature and delay (4), regulator (5) and a computer (3) for controlling the tilting mechanism. Point-by-point monitoring for calculating the geometry uses position sensor (13) and track transducers. Once a train has passed along a particular track section, the data concerning the geometry and track curvature are stored in computer (3) so that the train can set the angle of tilt without receiving further data. The current position of the train and thus the section of track over which the train is travelling may be detected using a GPS receiver. |
