<p>A breast prosthesis implant (10) is disclosed comprising a generally conical bio-compatible fabric shell (11). The shell (11) is pervious to tissue growth and body fluids. The interior of the shell (11) is divided into a series of discrete chambers (14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19) separated by pervious fabric dividers (14', 15', 16', 17' and 18'), the chambers (14-19) containing masses of bio-compatible fibers. The fiber concentration in the chambers (14, 15) nearest the apex of the cone is less than the concentration in chambers (18, 19) progressively further from the cone apex. Preferably, the shell (11) is somewhat stretchable to permit the volume of the shell (11) to increase or decrease in accordance with the weight gain or loss of the patient.</p> |
