<p>A tube and fitting assembly is made by the method of relatively moving a tube (12) into an internal bore (29) in a fitting (11) with the internal bore (29) extending end-to-end in the fitting (11), longitudinally compressing the tube (12) to radially expand it into engagement with the wall of the internal bore (29), internally threading either the tube (12) or the fitting (11) and with the threads being adapted to receive a second member (13) until it is sealed fluid-tight against the tube (12) and there is therefore no need for a fluid-tight seal between the tube (12) and the first fitting (11). The invention is also the tube (12) and fitting (11) as constructed by such method.</p> |
