Three Peltier elements (1,2,3) are connected in parallel and can be connected through a space thermostat (4) and a switch (S1) to a vehicle battery (5) or an accumulator (6) as power sources. The switch (S2) reverses the polarity of the Peltier elements so that they can be operated either as heating or cooling elements, and there is a ventilator (7) to increase the distribution of heat to a uniform level. A timer (8) is included so that the elements can be switched on or off automatically and the state of the battery or accumulator is monitored by the unit (9).
