Telephone with built in reader for bank credit cards etc linked to central system

The system has a telephone unit (1) that is fitted with an alpha numeric display (2) and has a built in electronic reader (3) for use with cheque, credit and smart cards. This allows card transaction details to be transmitted to a central bank control system for checking. An interface connector (5) is provided to allow the unit to be connected to a number of other units, such a as a computer (7), printer (8) or a module (4) that allows data to be stored in digital form or recorded as audio signals. The printer and computer allows the system to handle FAX information.
