Rotary milling machine used in forestry

The milling or shredding machine is used in forestry work for getting rid of roots or stumps etc. The machine incorporates a rotor (8) with a belt or chain drive (11). A motor (3) is geared (2) to the shaft (5) carrying the drive pulley. There is an idler pulley (10), to adjust the tension of the belt, and a driven pulley on the rotor. The axis of the rotor lies in a horizontal plane. There is a support frame (1) which holds a rotor housing (7). The rotor housing and the rotor may be moved up and down by a hydraulic actuator (9).
