The connector housing (1) has a bottom wall (2), top wall (3) and parallel side walls (4,5), an open insertion channel at one end (6) for at least one contact carrier block (9) contg. a number of plug contact elements and latching recesses (12,13) in the side walls engaged by latching protrusions (10,11) on the contact carrier when the carrier is inserted.
