<p>A method is claimed for suppressing the formation of free phosphorus cpds., esp. phosphates, from sewage or industrial waste liquor during purificn. by aerobic micro-organisms in the aerated activation tanks or trickling filters of multistage sewage plants. The method comprises adding phosphor in homeopathic dilution to the tank or filter or its feed system.</p>
