A combination lock has a number of spring-loaded, rotatable, outwardly facing dials 8 which are movable between two axially spaced positions. In the first position (Fig. 3) each dial 8 is coupled to a locking wheel 34 such that rotation of the dial 8 causes rotation of the wheel 34 whereby the wheel 34 may move to a position allowing opening of the lock. In the second position (Fig. 4), the dial 8 is decoupled from the locking wheel 34 so as to be rotatable independently thereof, allowing the combination of the lock to be changed. |
