<p>Field hockey stick comprising head, shaft and handle, wherein the shaft has a ball-striking face on the same side of the stick as a ball-striking face of the head, characterised in that the plane of the ball-striking face of the shaft is oriented about its longitudinal axis such that said plane is at an acute angle to the plane of the ball-striking face of the head. The rear surface of the shaft may be of conventional shape or may have a face whose plane is at an acute angle to the plane of the head striking face. The geometric configuration of the stick facilitates manipulation during play, especially when aligning the stick on or close to the playing surface for defensive play.</p> |
