PURPOSE:To retry the opening of a data link by automatically selecting another communication line in case of a failure in the opening process of the data link accompanying the opening of the session. CONSTITUTION:Communication lines used to set data links corresponding to respective on-line information processing programs on an opposite computer system 2 are registered in a management table 17. When an on-line information processing program 11 outputs a session opening request, a session opening means 13 of a host computer 1 acquires on communication line from the management table 17 by using a communication line selecting means 14, specifies the communication line, and indicates the opening of a data link to a data link opening means 16. In case of the failure in data link opening, the session opening means 13 acquires an alternative communication line from the management table 17 by using an alternative communication line selecting means 15, specifies the acquired communication line, and indicates the opening of a data link to the data link opening means 16. |
