A demountable centrifugal cooler

The demountable centrifugal cooler is a saline/sea water evaporative cooler built of plastic which can also function on fresh water. Its central centrifugal cylindrical rod 22 accomodates rings of feathered wetting pads 24 adjustable in number, angles and separation for maximum efficiency in cooling and removal of salt. The multi-funnel shaped casing 20 has perforated angled upper sides 21 and base 23 where the rod passes through upper and lower drains 26 to screw-fit the centrifugal motor pivot. A suction fan and blower maintain an air current. Regular drainage is fed back to the water tank through the upper drain. With a centrally sloping base and a rotating fork of the centrifugal rod residual salts and solids are accumulated centrally in upper drain and periodically drained by a timer controlled valve in the lower drain through into a removable salt sludge tank fitted with a sieve and vents. Salts on top of sieve dehumidify cold air enroute to blower. On release cold air is directed first to external surfaces to promote condensation. Repeated use of the sea water sample and its progressive dilution on mixing with condensation water, coupled with the removal of salts reduces salt concentration subsequently resulting in desalinisation of the sea water.
