PURPOSE: To obtain an olefin polymer excellent in mechanical strength such as rigidity, moldability, heat resistance, and impact resistance. CONSTITUTION: In the presence of a catalyst for olefin polymerization composed of [I-1] a solid transition metal catalytic component with (B-1) a metallocene compound carried on (A-1) a solid titanium catalytic component, [II] an organometallic compound and, as necessary, [III] an electron donor, (i) a process to produce a crystalline polypropylene component and (ii) another process to produce a lowcrystalline or noncrystalline ethylene-α-olefin copolymer component are conducted in any order to form a propylene-based block copolymer component; subsequently, [IV-a] an organoaluminumoxy compound and/or [IV-b] a Lewis acid or an ionic compound is added to the polymerization system to form (iii) an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer component, thereby the objective olefin polymer is obtained.
