PURPOSE: To improve characteristics as an optical element of the optical performance of a liquid crystal polymer film by adhering a film layer to a peelable substrate with an adhesive, peeling an orienting substrate to transfer the liquid crystal polymer film layer to the peelable substrate and then peeling the peelable substrate. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal polymer film layer 12 is formed and oriented on a oriented substrate 11, on which a peelable substrate 14 is laminated with an adhesive 13. Then the orienting substrate 11 is peeled from the interface between the orienting substrate 11 and the liquid crystal polymer film layer 12 to transfer the liquid crystal polymer layer to the peelable substrate 14. Further, the surface of the liquid crystal polymer film layer 12 exposed to air on the peelable substrate 14 is laminated on a light-transmitting substrate 16 with an adhesive 15. After laminating, the peelable substrate 14 is peeled from the interface between the peelable substrate 14 and the adhesive 15 to obtain an optical element having the thin film liquid crystal polymer film layer 12. |
