PURPOSE: To obtain a phenol resin composition, excellent in heat and moisture resistances and punchability, etc., and useful as a printed wiring board, etc., by blending an ester of an aliphatic unsaturated higher alcohol with phosphoric acid with a phenol resin. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. phenol resin (preferably a resol type phenol resin modified with a drying oil) with (B) preferably 2-15 pts.wt. ester of (i) a 6-30C aliphatic unsaturated higher alcohol (e.g. an unsaturated higher alcohol derived from linolic acid, linolenic acid and oleic acid) with (ii) phosphoric acid. The resultant phenol resin composition is used as a varnish and a paper substrate is impregnated therewith and dried to provide plural sheets of prepreg. The prepared sheets of prepreg are superposed and hot-pressed to thereby afford a phenol resin laminated sheet. At this time, a water-soluble phenol resin or a melamine resin is preferably applied to the paper substrate before impregnation with the varnish. |
