PURPOSE: To prevent breaking of a color filter or an electrode due to external stress by successively depositing a color filter of a specified pattern of plural colors, acryl resin film, first electrode and oriented film on a first substrate. CONSTITUTION: A transparent glass substrate 1 as a first substrate having a color filter 11, transparent electrode Xn as a first electrode and liquid crystal orienting film 13, and a transparent glass substrate 3 having a transparent electrode Yn and liquid crystal orienting film 14 are disposed parallel to each other to constitute a liquid crystal cell. A liquid crystal material is sealed in this cell to produce a color liquid crystal display device. In this method, the transparent glass substrate 2 is produced in a process to form a color filter of a specified pattern of plural colors on the surface which is to be the inner wall of the cell, a process to form an acryl resin film 12 on the color filter 11, a process to form a transparent electrode Xn on the acryl resin film 12, and further, a process to form a liquid crystal oriented film 13 on the transparent electrode Xn. Since the acryl resin film 12 absorbs external stress, breaking of the color filter 11 or the electrode Xn can be prevented. |
