PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe assembly with a safety shield that does not give a great stress to a safety shield and a syringe barrel in a storing condition. SOLUTION: A collar 38 mounted around a syringe barrel has at least one recess directed radically and inwardly. A safety shield is positioned over the syringe barrel to move telescopically from a proximal position where a needle cannula 32 is exposed to a tip position protectively surrounding the needle cannula 32 of the syringe. When the safety shield is stationed in the proximal position, the safety shield can be freely rotated with regard to the barrel, and in its inside surface, at least one projection 61 directed inwardly is provided. The projection 61 is sized and positioned to pass through the recess in the collar 38 when the safety shield is rotated with regard to the barrel and aligned with the projection 61 and the recess. |
