摘要 PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency and to reduce a cost by holding an optical cable by the own elasticity of a pair of holding parts arranged to face each other. CONSTITUTION: An external spacer 20 has a mounting part 21 which is mounted backward in a traction direction by the expanded diameter part 12 of the optical fiber cable 2 and at least a pair of the holding plates 22 which are provided to project approximately parallel from both ends of the diameter at the same axial end face of the mounting part 21 and are capable of holding the sheath expanded in diameter by an internal spacer 11 from the outside surface. The mounting part 21 is a cylindrical body made of steel and is mounted on the outer side of the optical fiber cable 2. An O-ring 23 is mounted on the outer periphery of the mounting part 21. The holding plates 22 are leaf springs energized in the opposite directions facing each other by their own elastic force. In such a case, the optical cable 2 is held by the own elastic force of the pair of the holding plates 22 arranged to face each other and, therefore, there is no deformation of the holding plates 22 at the time of holding and the free movement of the holding position is made possible as well.
