Coating solution for forming composite metal oxide film and process for making same

A coating solution for forming a composite metal oxide film containing: (A) at least one member selected from the group consisting of a reaction product, a partial hydrolyzate of the reaction product, and a partial acylated product of the reaction product wherein the reaction product is obtained by a reaction between at least one compound containing a carbonyl group and at least one metal compound; (B) a polyhydric alcohol compound; and (C) at least one member selected from the group consisting of a metal carboxylate compound; a metal nitrate compound; and a metal nitrite compound, which coating solution may also contain an alcohol-soluble polymer. The present invention is also directed to a process of making the same.
