PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method which enables a conference participant who is unfamiliar with the procedure of a multimedia virtual conference to easily participate in the virtual conference from his or her work station. SOLUTION: This multimedia communication conference system utilizes a graphical user interface(GUI) adopting the metaphore of an actual conference for easily sharing and distributing information with other conference participants. This is actualized by using the knowledge that participants of the conference already have such as how the actual conference is carried out. Consequently, the GUI, i.e., a multimedia communication application program allows the participants of the conference to distribute and/or share information remotely by directly operation actual graphical icons of objects. This enables a conference using actual objects, so when the actual icons are operated, the operation at the time of the actual conference is simulated. |
