<p>PURPOSE: To identify types of a ground surface by measuring fluctuation dispersion of reflection intensity of the electric wave from the ground surface. CONSTITUTION: Received output 3 of a battery-type altimeter 1 is sampled N times in specified period, and then A/D-converted by an A/D converter 4, with the resulting values I1 , I2 ...Ij , Ij+1 ...IN. A calculation circuit 7 finds such Zj as Zj =|Ij+1 -Ij|, and stores it in a memory 5. After N pieces, the number is set in advance, of data is stored, the number n of data, which is more than Z in N, is calculated, and n/N=p (>=Z) is taken as presence probability of the data more than Z. P (>=Z) is calculated far varieties of Z, and the relation between Z and P (>=Z) is indicated on a coordinate axes of logarithm-logarithm, thus straight line is obtained. From inclination of the straight line, value of D (dispersion) for a ground surface is decided, and it is collated with the value of D for varieties of ground surfaces stored into a memory 6, and then a ground surface discrimination result 9 is outputted from a discrimination circuit 8.</p> |
