PURPOSE: To eliminate static electricity between a glass plate and an original, to remove stuck dust and to obtain the read result of an excellent picture by having a cleaning means removing the dust or the like on the glass surface, on the side of the device, of a transmissive member receiving the original. CONSTITUTION: A carriage 3 moves in the direction of an arrow orthogonal to a photoelectric transducer so as to two-dimentionally take in the picture. Thus, a cleaning mechanism 5 arranged at the carriage 3 removes the dust stuck on the glass plate 1 along with the scanning of the carriage 3. Then, a timing belt 9 is fixed at the carriage 3 by a fixing member 15, and the carriage 3 is driven by the rotation of a motor 6. The cleaning mechanism 5 is electrically grounded at outside through the carriage 3 by a changeover switch 16, so that the cleaning mechanism 5 is made to also be a discharge mechanism. |
