PURPOSE: To facilitate lighting even at low temperature by continuing preheating and kickoff for a prescribed time through a preheating opening-closing means when identifying that a fluorescent lamp is not lighted since impression voltage does not reach reference voltage by a voltage identification means. CONSTITUTION: After AC electric power is supplied, positive half wave voltage on the electrode 3 side of a fluorescent lamp 3 and reference voltage between peak voltage of an AC power source and fluorescent lamp lighting voltage are compared with each other by a voltage identification means 5, and when the positive half wave voltage does not reach the reference voltage, it is identified as unlighted, Half wave negative voltage on the electrode 4 side of the fluorescent lamp 3 is controlled through a preheating circuit opening means 7 and a time limit means 8 on the basis of this identified result, and preheating for 0.2 to 1 second and kickoff are continued. Therefore, a fluorescent lamp lighting starter which can facilitate lighting even at low temperature and is formed as a system of being repeatedly performed with every period of the AC power source, can be provided. |
