<p>PURPOSE: To establish a compost assessment standard in order to supply constant-quality composts with stable aging degree. CONSTITUTION: A compost is subjected to extraction with water, and the ultraviolet-absorbing components in the resultant extract are fractionatingly determined for every molecular weight to determine the rate of low-molecular weight components, and with this rate, the compost aging degree is assessed. It is preferable that the above low-molecular weight components is <=1500 in molecular weight.</p> |
