METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPTICAL TRANSMISSION

PURPOSE: To allow a receiver side to receive desired data while distinguishing the data from noise by adding a head reader and END data to before and after local area network(LAN) optical data sent optically and sending the resulting data as a DMI code. CONSTITUTION: A frame generator 14 reads data stored in an FIFO memory 16 in terms of a 2-way signal 64 and outputs data of an NRZ code read from the FIFO memory 16 to a DMI converter 17 as a signal 65 in succession to a head reader from a head reader frame generating section 10. The DMI converter 17 adds a signal indicating an END to the end of data of the NRZ code with the head reader added thereto and outputs a signal 55 as a code converted from an NRZ code into the DMI code. Then the signal 55 subject to DMI coding is applied to an optical transmitter 18 and emitted to space as an optical transmission signal 59. Thus, the receiver side surely identifies LAN optical data from the optical noise.
