PURPOSE: To improve the selectivity of a disk and to increase the decorative effect by employing colored disk base plates for a DVD. CONSTITUTION: Two kinds of DVDs(digital video disks), which are produced by sticking two disk substrates together, consist of one in which, information is read from both surfaces and one in which, information is read from only one surface. A DVD (Figure B.), in which information is read from both surfaces, has substrates 11 each colored with a color transparent and having good laser beam transmissivity. A DVD (Figure A.), in which information is read from only one surface, has a signal side disk substrate colored with a color having a good laser beam transmissivity and a flat disk substrate 15 on the side without signal which, is freely colored with a color without need of having the laser beam transmissivity. By varying the color of one or both of the stuck disk substrates of the DVD (Figure B.) from that of the DVD (Figure A.), the capability of the selection is increased. If the signal surface is provided only on one sided, the disk subsrate without signal may be colored with an optional color and the decorative effect of the disk is increased. |
