PURPOSE: To well control the temp. of the head of an industrial ink jet printer using a head having a relatively large number of ink emitting orifices. CONSTITUTION: A water jacket 7 is provided to the rear surface of the base plate 6 of an ink jet head 113 (113') and cooling water is passed through the water jacket 7. A temp. sensor 11 is provided to the rear surface of the base plate 6 and a flow rate controller 12 changes the driving of a pump 10 on the basis of the change of the output of the temp. sensor 11 corresponding to the temp. change of an ink passage 2 to change the flow rate of the cooling water 8 flowing through the water jacket 7. By this constitution, the excessive temp. rise of the head 113 (113') is suppressed and the temp. of the head can be always controlled to a definite range. |
