PURPOSE: To improve the sound quality of OGM or ICM in an automatic answering telephone set. CONSTITUTION: The automatic answering telephone set is provided with a codec circuit 31 applying A/D conversion and D/A conversion to a voice signal given/ received by a telephone line 3, a DSP 32, and a memory 33 storing a received digital voice signal. The DSP 32 conducts data compression of a digital voice signal, data expansion of the digital voice signal subject to data compression, and correction processing of the received digital voice signal so that a level of an analog voice signal after D/A conversion is a prescribed level. In the case of recording, the analog voice signal is recorded in the memory 33 via the codec circuit 31 and the DSP 32. In the case of the reproduction, the voice signal recorded in the memory 33 is extracted through the DSP 32 and the codec circuit 31. |
