A method is described for the detection and determination of organophosphoric pesticides in vegetable materials which may contain them, comprising the reaction of glucose-6-phosphate with acid phosphatase and glucose oxidase in a buffered aqueous medium with the formation of oxygenated water, the addition of an extract of the vegetable materials, with reversible inhibition of the acid phosphatase by the organophosphoric pesticides if present, and the measurement of any reduction in the rate of formation of oxygenated water due to the said inhibition of the acid phosphatase by means of an amperometric electrode. A biosensor usable for carrying out the said method is also described. <IMAGE> |
