<p>The equipment designed to assist the knee joint, both during the post-operative period and in femoro-tibial re- education of the limb, comprises rods 1 and 5 enclosed by hoops 3 and 7 on the calf and thigh of the user respectively, these being connected to pairs of artificial condyles, each provided with a hole and suitably shaped aperture, with two bolts being provided for each pair of condyles passing respectively through a hole in a condyle and a shaped opening in the opposite condyle of the pair, so as to render the movement of the condyles of the equipment similar to the movement of the bone condyles of the user to which the equipment is fitted as the knee bends. <IMAGE></p> |
