This invention relates to N-substituted-N'-(optionally substituted)-N,N'-diacylhydrazines which are useful as insecticides, compositions containing those compounds and methods of their use. The compounds of this invention may be represented by the formula wherein R<1> is cyano or H, R<2> is straight chain or branched alkyl, B is aryl or substituted aryl, R is H or a variety of substituents, and Z forms a fused 5-membered heterocyclic ring.
