The combined refrigerator and freezer has 2 separate food storage compartments, with respective doors, the interior walls of each compartment lined with a common plastics cladding (18). This is fitted with a horizontal plate (28) at the separation point between the storage compartments, simultaneously acting as a magnetic armature for each of the magnetic door seals and providing a fixing for the door hinges. The cladding has a recess (21) at the rear of the plate for at least one heating line (25).
