PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of a communication error by giving/receiving test data of a capacity estimated to be a maximum capacity of music data between a host computer and a karaoke sing along terminal equipment at the opening of the terminal equipment so as to test the data transmission capability of a communication channel. CONSTITUTION: The operator makes a channel connection request from a karaoke sing along terminal equipment to a host computer 1 by using a phone call or the like. When the channel is connected, the karaoke sing along terminal equipment 2 sends information relating to the telephone number of its own station, the presence of a peripheral equipment and equipment configuration such as a model to the host computer 1. On the other hand, in order to test the transmission capability of data through the communication channel with respect to the karaoke sing along terminal equipment 2, the host computer 1 sends prescribed test data to the karaoke sing along terminal equipment 2. The test data are generated simulatingly by estimating a maximum capacity of music data to be sent in the system operation. When no communication abnormality is caused after the transmission of the test data, it is judged that the transmission capability of the communication channel is enough to tolerate the system operation. |
