<p>PURPOSE: To electrically reinforce the termination part of a cable by setting the brim of cutout of a semiconductor layer in the vicinity of the apex of the diameter-enlarged part where the outside diameter of a cable insulator is enlarged partially. CONSTITUTION: First, the terminal of a cable is kept in condition that the semiconductor layer 4 surrounding an insulator 5 is not exfoliated and a heat- resistant tape wound layer 12 is wound around it. Further, a ribbon heater 13 is wound outside of it, and it is heated. What is more, for the heat-resistant tape wound layer 12, winding it thinly in the section in which to form a diameter-enlarged part and thickly in the sections on both its sides will produce a circular diameter-enlarged part 5A in the insulator 5. Here, it is processed so that the termination 4A of the semiconductor layer 4 may be positioned a little under the apex of the diameter-enlarged part 5A, exfoliating the section right from the diameter-enlarged part 5A of the semiconductor layer 4 is exfoliated. As a result, the termination 4A faces the direction of the incline of a stress cone, and the electric connection with a shielding layer of the stress cone can be performed rectilinearly, and the occurrence of voids or concentration of electric fields at the electric connection can be prevented.</p> |
