<p>PURPOSE: To make it easy to design an ATM exchange by optimizing the format of an internal cell having information required for switching. CONSTITUTION: The ATM cell 106 is received by a cell reception and routing information addition part 101 and routing information (4 bytes) showing an output line and redundant bytes are added to the ATM cell 106 to generate a reception-side internal cell 107, which is shifted by 4 bytes, line by line, and outputted. A routing control part 105 processes the routing information in this reception-side internal cell to control writing to and reading from a cell buffer 104, the ATM cell except the routing information is stored in a cell buffer 104, and the ATM cell is outputted to the output line on the basis of an output destination. When 17 input mud output lines are used, the timing of a routing control part 105 is adjusted by generating the reception-side internal cell 107 consisting of 17×4=68 bytes.</p> |
