PURPOSE: To improve the rigidity and the durability, to prevent the deformation and damage such as cutout of a case body for a timepiece and to improve the moldability by incorporating glass fiber and carbon fiber in hard resin, and forming the case body. CONSTITUTION: The component for forming a case body for a timepiece is molded to be formed by a material in which glass fiber and carbon fiber are mixed with hard resin such as, for example, polyamide resin. The quantities of the glass and carbon fibers to be mixed are preferably 35 to 50wt.% and 5 to 10wt.% in view of the strength of the body. If the quantity of the carbon fiber is increased, the product cost is increased, and if the quantity of the fiber is increased, the surface state of a molding is roughed, and hence in the case of the polyamide, it is most preferable that the composition contains about 5wt.% of the carbon fiber and about 40wt.% of the glass fiber. Thus, the body having high rigidity in which both the tensile strength and bending strength are increased can be formed. |
