PURPOSE: To reduce a manufacturing cost by forming an oriented film up to a part of an Ni plating layer of a non-display region. CONSTITUTION: A stage A: This liquid crystal display panel is provided with a display region by forming transparent conductive patterns 17, 18 on glass substrates 13, 14 and the non-display region 19 of the glass substrate 13 is provided thereon with the Ni-P layer 20 by electroless plating. A stage B: The oriented film 22 is so formed as to extend up to a part on the display region 16 of the glass substrate 13 and the Ni-P layer 20 of the non-display region 19. A stage C: The surface of the oriented film existing on the respective display regions 16 on the glass substrates 13, 14 is subjected to a rubbing treatment. A stage D: The glass substrate 13 and the glass substrate 14 are stuck to each other via a sealing part 15 disposed along the circumference of the display region 16 to form an empty cell. A stage E: A liquid crystal cell 12 is formed by injecting a liquid crystal material into the display region 16 of the empty cell. A stage F: The Ni-P layer 20 exposed on the nondisplay region 19 of the glass substrate 13 is provided thereon with an Au layer 21 by electroless plating. A stage G: A semiconductor element for driving is mounted. |
