PURPOSE: To provide a central processing unit for an information display board capable of timely executing maintenance such as exchange, etc., of a display element by controlling the summed-up lighting time of the information display board of a light emitting diode system at every information display board. CONSTITUTION: Plural information display boards 15 are connected to the central processing unit 12 through a communication control shelf 13 and a communication line 14. The processing unit 12 is provided with a processor 28, and a lighting time storage part 24, a summed-up time calculation part 25, a decision part 26 and an output part 27 are connected to the processor 28. The summed-up time is compared with the reference time data, and when the summed-up time exceeds the reference time, the output part 27 is operated.
