PURPOSE: To increase abrasion resistance and flaw resistance for an organic photoreceptor surface so as to improve durability of a photoreceptor without any deterioration in image characteristics such as sensitivity and image quality by containing specific polycarbonate and specific inorganic grain respectively in the uppermost layer. CONSTITUTION: In a photosensitive layer 6, a charge generating layer (CGL) 4 containing charge generating material (CGM) as a principal constituent, the first charge transporting layer (CTL) 3 containing charge transporting material (CTM) as a principal constituent, and the second CTL containing inorganic grain, especially silica grain, CTM, and an oxidation inhibitor in a binder resin are laminated in this order on a conductive base 1 via an intermediate layer 2. For the binder resin in the second CTC, 5 serving as the uppermost layer, polycarbonate with viscosity average molecular weight of 40000 or more is used, and the inorganic grain contained in the second CTL 5 is provided with a volume average grain diameter of 0.05-2.0μm. In addition, specific cleaning means are used in combination, and as a result, no abrasion and no damage is generated in a process for repeated image formation.
