PURPOSE: To improve convenience by providing a selecting means for the prepayment/post-paying of toll at on-vehicle equipment. CONSTITUTION: Concerning the payment of toll, the prepayment to subtract a toll from amount data previously stored in an IC card C is displayed on a display screen 4 of on-vehicle equipment 1 to be turned to a transmitting state corresponding to the discrimination of the regular IC card C. When prepaying the toll, a user operates nothing as it is but when selecting the post-payment to transfer the toll from a bank account later, it is inputted from an input part 5. When a vehicle mounting such on-vehicle equipment comes to a tollgate, data are exchanged between the on-vehicle equipment 1 and a data processor. When the payment of toll is prepayment, the amount of toll is subtracted when the vehicle comes to a tollgate on the exit side of a toll road. When the payment of toll is post-payment, on the other hand, data corresponding to the toll are written in the IC card C and stored on the side of the data processor as well when the vehicle comes to the tollgate on the exit side of the toll road, and the account of post-payment is settled later. |
